I’m back for another year of picks in the Westgate SuperContest. SB Nation’s partners over at Odds Shark are sponsoring my entry again. The contest requires selecting 5 games each week and picking them against the spread. I finished 2-2-1 in Week 6, which brings me to 13-10-1 for the season. Overall for last week I scuffled along at 8-6-1.The San Francisco 49ers are a 9.5 point underdog on Monday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers. Some sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark are offering 10.5 points, but for the most part it’s 9.5 — including at the SuperContest. If the line had been 10 or higher I might have been tempted by the 49ers, but without getting that needed hook, I’m staying away from this one. The 49ers are scuffling, but Green Bay has not been overly impressive this season. If the 49ers don’t turn the ball over five times, I think they probably win that game by double digits. Kirk Cousins is a much better quarterback than C.J. Beathard, he’s got some big-time weapons in the passing game, and he’s backed by a stout Vikings defense. The Cardinals could surprise them Womens Tarvarius Moore Jersey , particularly with Minnesota coming off a close road win over the Eagles, but I really think this is a game the Vikings win going away.I stuck with home teams for the most part. The one road team is the Bucs in the return of Jameis Winston as their starting quarterback. He’s had success against Atlanta, and if O.J. Howard plays, they could do some damage against a banged up Falcons defense. The Bucs are a tough team to figure out given the transition at quarterback, but I like them here.The Rams are on a roll, but if Denver is going to keep this close, this is the ideal situation. The Broncos have played well at home, including nearly upsetting the Kansas City Chiefs two weeks ago. Add in cold weather with a chance of snow, and I’m ready to take the Broncos with the cover.I went 8-6-1 overall in Week 5. The team’s PR department released the unofficial depth chart on Tuesday, and a slightly major move on Wednesday has resulted in a change.The 49ers have placed Jimmy Garoppolo on injured reserve and promoted Nick Mullens from the practice squad. The initial unofficial depth chart listed C.J. Beathard as the starter and Garoppolo in brackets for his injury. I have removed him and added Mullens in. The team is sticking with two quarterbacks for the time being.The PR department also formally moved Malcolm Smith into the SAM spot Dante Pettis Jersey , Fred Warner into the MIKE spot, and Reuben Foster into the WILL spot. This is a formalization of what we’ve already seen. As long as Smith remains healthy, it looks like he’ll be the SAM the rest of the way, with Mark Nzeocha handling backup work.The running back situation is currently listed as Matt Breida or Alfred Morris as the No. 1 running back. They are splitting the workload pretty evenly, but Breida is starting to emerge as the more successful back, leading the league in rushing yards and yards per carry.
